With summer coming around, it’s time for kids to get in their swimsuits and have some fun in the water! Instead of going to a public pool, why not get your kids an inflatable pool instead? It gives you the option of watching your kids while in your own home, and saves you the car trip (and thus the gas) to the public pool or beach too! Not to mention inflatable pools are a much safer option, especially for younger children.
Before you buy an inflatable pool, there are a few things to consider:
The first thing to think about is the size of the pool. Inflatable pools come in a variety of sizes, so before you buy one you should make sure it isn’t too big for your backyard or too small for the number of kids who are going to be in the pool. If you decide that you're going to join your kids in the pool you buy then be sure that the pool can fit adults too. Secondly, consider the depth of the inflatable pool. If you have younger kids and are worried that they may slip and drown in a deeper pool, get a shallower one. Of course if your kids are older or can swim well, then a slightly deeper pool is fine. Nevertheless, do remember that no matter what the depth you select, you will need to keep an eye on your children at all times when they play in the pool.
Besides the size and depth, you should also look at whether the inflatable pool comes with an optional canopy. Ideally, it should, as your kids should not be exposed to the sun for long periods of time. With a canopy above the pool, they can spend even longer times playing in the pool. Also, it would be great if the pool of your choice had other optional accessories like water toys and water slides. This will increase the fun factor for your kids. Inflatable pools are a great addition to any backyard, and the good news is that there will be plenty available for you to buy this summer. They may not quite match a full-sized pool or the sea, but they can still provide hours of fun for children of all ages.
